Internship: Log/Activity 30/04/2012

   It's Monday again, the last day of April. This morning my coursemates and I helped Christine to trace image using Adobe Illustrator. The images will be used for the exhibition that will be held on the coming 11-13th May at KLCC Convention Center. Since we have been played with AI before this, it was not so hard to trace the images. We had finished traced all the images in the afternoon. Figures below were the images that I traced.

Internship: Log/ Activity 27/04/2012

           Today, I continued explored with the flash CS5. I had to find out the solution to solve the problem that I faced yesterday. After I commended some of the code, I had succeeded link to the next frame. Besides that, I also imported the jelly with movement which had done by Yukii. I planned to use the keyboard control  to control the jelly to jump over the cookies. However, it was failed but I won't give up, I will continue to explore on flash and solve the problem. :-)

 

Internship: Log/ Activity 26/04/2012

          Today, I played with Adobe Flash CS5. I tried to explore on the source file from the book bought by my coursemate, there were a lot of examples of games. I was exploring on how it work. It  was quite challenging to do flash coding. Hopefully I can understand more on it. I tried to create a start button to link one frame to another frame. I had created a start button at the  first frame. When I clicked it, it was unable to link to next frame. Some errors were came out.

Internship: Log/Activity 25/04/2012

           This morning, the same problem occurred again for the flash but my course-mate Cj had helped me to solve it. The problem was caused by the flash player. She helped me to change the property to  flash player 9.0.
           In the other hand, I had finished drew the cookies land. I had added two waffles, ice cream hill and changed some of the colors. However, I was faced a problem when my course-mate Hwee Boon tried to scale it to fit in the map, the outline of the objects became thick and blur. This was because I had applied the Gaussian Blur effect on some of the outline. So, I had to re-draw some of the outline.

                    After finalize the cookies land design, I started to change the design for the marshmallow land. I was stuck at the middle. Don't know what should I put inside, lack of creativity..>.<

Intership: Log/ Activity 24/04/2012

                Today, when I first debug the flash that I had done yesterday, there was a system error. Luckily, when I import the image again, it was working. This morning, I decided to continue to draw the graphical interface for cookies land. We have to finish all the graphical interface at first before we can proceed to the coding part.
               In the afternoon, we had a small presentation to show our work to Christine. She had gave  us some suggestions and comments including the color used and the overall of the design. After the meeting, I continued to draw the cookies land. Figure below showed the current design of the cookies land.

Internship: Log/Activity on 23-04-2012

                   Today, I played with Adobe Flash CS5. I started by importing the interface that I had drew in Illustrator. First, I had to save the task as FXG. Then, import the .fxg document to the library. Change the properties of the document to movie clip. I had two layers  in the timeline, one was for the background  and another one was for the buttons. With the help from my coursemate, I had succeed create a main menu interface with four buttons in Flash.

                            Today, I continued drew the second part of the marshmallow land. The land was consisted by cotton candy and marshmallow. I had drew a few cotton candy  trees and flowers, marshmallow sticks and a bench.  The figure below was the screen capture of the land. It looked simple and quite empty. I still wondering what more should I add on.

Internship: Log/Activity on 19-04-2012

               In the morning, I had make some changes on my drawing yesterday. I changed the pattern and color of the glow effect of the jelly bean. I added the bright for each line to create the effect of glow.

               In the afternoon, I started to draw the second level of marshmallow land. It was a combination of marshmalllow and cotton candy. I had searched for a few images of cotton candy in the web. Figure below was the cotton candy machine that I had drew.

                   Finally, I had finished drew the marshmallow land. The colors used were all light colors included light pink, blue, purple, white and green.

             The next things I had done was drawing the storyline. I helped my coursemate to draw two parts of the storyline. The hardest thing to draw the glow of the background. Christine suggested that we should not used gradient in our drawing. So we had to match the colors on our own. Honestly, I am not good in color matching. Figures below were my work.

                      Today, I continued drawing the menu interface, the last option-Quit. I used the same interface as the Sound option because I think that they were almost the same. All the background images for the whole menu were the same, just the contents were different.

                       After finished drawing the menu interface, I proceeded to draw the marshmallow land. I had finished part of it. I had some problems on the color used. At first I used the bright color, but my coursemate said it looked like a jelly land rather than a marshmallow land. Thus, I changed all the colors to the light colors. Now it looked better.

             Is Monday again~~  came to work again after two days of rest. Today, I continued played with Illustrator, drawing the interface for menu option. I had drew the menu for Help, giving instructions to the player on how to play the game. Figures below were my drawing, they looked simple, so maybe I will adding more items inside afterward.

               Today, I started drew the map of the game. It was quite challenging to draw the map because I have to link all the islands with the jellyland at the center. The image should be look like in 3D. So far, I just finished the candy land and part of the jelly land and cookies land.

                  After one day of rest, I continued my work on Illustrator for today. I had finished drew the main menu and the option menu. They looked simple but I had spent a lot of time on it because I forgot to save my work earlier before the window not responding! I had learnt my lesson to save every period of time to prevent the same situation happen again. Figures below were some of my work.

Internship: Log/Activity on 09-04-2012

                 Today, I had done my candyland design. I had spent a half day time to finish my candyland due  to some technical problem, my laptop was getting lag while running Adobe Illustartor. The program was stopped working when I almost finish the chocolate fall. Thus, I had to re-do that part. At last, I finished it.

               In the afternoon, I started drew the characters of the game, the jellies. I had drew five out of ten jellies and the other five jellies were drawn by my course-mate.

            Today, I was continued drawing my candy land. My progress was quite slow because the hand drawing was a bit 3D. So I had spent a lot of time to draw it. I still left one part haven't finish, that is the chocolatefall.

 I was continued my yesterday's task for today. I still looking for suitable menu extension. Finally, my coursemate found  a module called ARI Ext Menu. We decided to use that module as the website menu. My next thing to do was looking for a photo gallery extension. I had found a component called  AtomiconGallery. In my opinion, it looked nice and very suitable for our website's theme. Since we had a lot of photo album, I decided to resize the thumbnail of album so it can fit more photo albums in one single page. Finally I had make it.

Internship: Log/Activity on 05-04-2012

   Today's task was designing the Belt Equipment website as required by Christine. We had to put away our game interface design and concentrated on web design. I started designing the homepage by adding some brief descriptions about the company. There was a read more button which will link to the company profile page as the visitor would like to read more about the company. Besides that, I had installed a module called ArtWijMo Menu. I had tried to change the coding of the module in order to adjust the distance between the tabs. Even though I had successfully adjusting it, it still have some problem. Thus, I decided to give up and change another module.

                    In the morning, I was drawing my candyland using Adobe Illustrator. I had drawn another candy hill with a bridge and a gate. The design was drew based on Yukii's drawing.

                               In the afternoon, we started designed our website after discussed with Christine on the overall design and the content of the website. But before that, the joomla folder have to be uploaded to the cpanel so that three of us can design the website together.

Internship: Log/Activity on 03-04-2012

                       Today, I continued explored on Adobe Illustrator in the morning. I had drawn another two lollipops and candy hills.

                          In the afternoon, we were looking for a suitable joomla template for the website. This website is much more simple than our first task. Christine said that we can just use the existing joomla template. That mean we just need to change the contents instead of design on our own. The theme of the website are simply and clear.

Internship: Log/Activity on 02-04-2012

                 Finally, my coursemates and I had completed our first task- designing our company official website by last week. Our next task is develop a flash game and redesign another website for Belt Equipment Supplies Sdn Bhd. For today, we had spent our time to explore on Adobe Illustrator, another new things for us. Since our game designer-Boon Tek had finished his internship, so we have to continue his task to design the game interface. Figure below was some of my work for today.

Internship: Log/Activity on 30-03-2012

                   Today we were still designed and arranged the website contents. We had to find an extension to view pdf document in the website. I had found an extension called RDDownload which we can download any document by clicking on the link. However, it was not suitable to be used because we can view the pdf document in the web. Luckily, my coursemate Hwee Boon found an extension which enable to view and save pdf document. Besides, I had uploaded some new videos gave by Christine and adjusted some photos using Photoshop. Christine said that the website need to be launched before Sunday because our boss need to meet with customer in this coming Sunday. So, we had brought our works home. Finally, we were finished it on time.  First task down!!


                   Boon Tek were leaving us today, he had finished his internship by this month. Left three of us here. All the best to you and we will miss you~~Ah Boon~~

Same as previous day, my coursemates and I continued desigining the website because it will be launched this coming friday. I had found a extension called Dione Gallery Wizard used to display album in article. After discussed with Christine, we decided to use this extension to display photos in the News.
